To the European Wanderers: Will I need to Visa to Visit Paris?

Hello One and All...

Asking another question

Since I have registered membership here, I have forgotten how to do my research in google and receive varied answers to my question. I just want to ask a question if I still need to obtain a visa from the French Embassy to be allowed to have a visit to Paris if I already have a UK visa stamped on my passport.

I am aware that UK visa is for UK and not for France but I want to make sure if there are circumstances wherein I could use a UK visa to enter a country in Europe.

My fiance promised me a trip to Paris before our wedding. I am afraid I would need to obtain a visit visa to France before I will be allowed to linger in the pubs where Hemingway used to get drunk. Has anyone from here tried bringing his fiancee to any place in Europe before the wedding has taken place without obtaining a visa?

Help help help... As I don't want him to book a flight yet without making sure I can go with him..

Your UK visa is only valid for entry to UK.

You are not able to enter France or any other EU country without an appropriate visa (Schengen visa)

I would suggest that you do not book any flights until you have been granted a Schengen visa.
