This great little movie was made late 80s/1990, just about the time I made my first trip to the Phils, and actually does (in a comical way) represent what dating a Filipina was all about pre-proper internet/webcam etc.
Made on location in Manila (the Ermita girly bar was 'Mistys'...don't ask me how I know.).
It is on youtube now, split into separate parts.
Considering the usual load of tosh that's on telly over the hols, sit back and enjoy.

Well, I have been in a lot of movies over the years, including one or two in Manila, but sadly not that one. I think the filming was before I arrived there, but they were there for 3 months apparently.
My friend did happen to be the manager of that bar though.
I have sent the link to my girlfriend, and asked her to suggest which guy on there I most resemble.
I just hope she doesn't say Charlie Drake.

Do you know, I knew a guy just like him though, who really was running an agency like that.
Bill had that part off to a tee.
I think that's why I love the film so much, simply because in most ways it was totally authentic.

I've not watched it yet, but Bill Maynard used to live in the next village to me, and Nigel Lawson (ex Conservative Chancellor) lived in my village when he was our MP.
i watched it when it was shown if i recall guy with beard was farmer rat catcher lol i dont think much has changed with dating agencys lol just up to date i saw my fiancee on tagged
