What IS unfair is the 'one size fits all' approach by the government...similar in fact to the assumptions you are making about the members on this forum and their INDIVIDUAL experiences, circumstances and motivations.
The government have to come up with some figure or would you prefer it if they dont even ask anyone what proof they have of supporting their "sweetheart" when she arrives in the uk
