They used to call me “awesome”
I wouldn’t do things they consider gruesome
To others, they say I am a good example
As they thought I live a life that’s simple.
They used to tell me they are lucky.
People close to me were very happy
They smile and adore at my “goodness” everyday
They can’t see a devil in me in any way.
They used to call me smart and brilliant
They said, one day I could stand like a giant
Their expectations on me was so high
It pushes my limits beyond the sky.
Now I’m “gruesome” and “dirty”, they said
The bright white flag I was holding got stained
They’re saying not to follow my footsteps.
They don’t even dare to take a glance at my doorstep.
From a blessing I turned to be a burden
The bright sunlight on the sky seem to darken
Their adoring eyes, started criticizing me
Coz I can’t be everything they wanted me to be.
Why? Can’t I be silly and go wrong?
The crime I made was minor, not so strong.
Is it bad to fail the expectations set on me?
Can’t I have things in my own way?
I couldn’t be all they wanted
I can’t have all their expectations satisfied and granted
Oh, God! I wanted to be free and happy.
Live and set rules for myself only.
I couldn’t be perfect, I am sorry.
I’m sorry, I failed to bring you honor and glory!
I hope sooner, you will realize and see
There is no such thing as PERFECT me…
