how many people can claim to have been successful in the music industry, but to do it not once with the Jam, then with the Style Council and then on his own, 3 times is rare, i can only think of Paul McCartney with the Beatles, wings and own his own..

there are only a few good Beatles songs, all from McCartney - 'yesterday' being one of the few..![]()
I would put Jools Holland in the same league. Not only that, I would place him on the top.
His career includes:-
Squeeze
Solo Career
The Jools Holland Big Band
The Rhythm And Blues Orchestra
TV music shows such as The Tube, Later... with Jools Holland and his annual New Year pary
As an accomplished musician, song-writer, music producer and TV host he has worked with and influenced a huge number and variety of 'the musical greats'.
Not my link, that was posted by Les.
But I thought it was a good link.
Just like a few others before them 'The Beatles' influenced music and popular culture hugely.
It really depends how you define 'Top ever bands', it's subjective and we all have different ideas. On a solely objective level the Beatles are clearly up there at the 'top' in so many areas, there can be no argument about that, based on the facts.
Oh. The Boomtown rats. Saw them as newbies too. What an impact Sir Bob (Give us yermoney) Geldorf has had.
