CFO Seminar Schedule CEBU (help)

Been calling the CFO Cebu Extension Office since this morning and unfortunately, I was victimized by the inefficiency of SOME government offices.... Given a telephone number to call, then the number I called referred me again to another phone number (it almost left my phone with no airtime balance at all!)

The CFO website is not really user friendly (or i think I am just too lazy to look for further information) I just want to ask those who have had their CFO seminar in Cebu about the schedule of the Guidance and Counseling Program.. What are the specific days and time so it can fit in to my flight to Cebu.. Help Help help... I already have gathered the required documents. All I need to know is the schedule... Please Please help...

I also need a good accommodation near the CFO Office... Will the seminar be at the CFO Office or somewhere else?

Hi Jlags,

I went to CFO Seminar last Aug 2011, to change my passport name. If I can remember, they conduct seminar only tuesday and thursday. But if u can contact the CFO Cebu, it better to clarify them. Just in case changes of schedules You may try these numbers
(032) 235- 3745 to 46 and
232- 1033

Go there early, they start at 8am, but its first come first serve. There are hotels and pension house nearby. Mango Park Hotel, Royal Pension is just a walking distance.

I can’t help with your questions but remember, when they ask you question about your husband/husband to be, his family, education or anything else etc etc, they do not know the answers so make them up. (Or better still if you have guts to do it ask under what legal authority do they have the power ask you such questions, and refuse to answer, but I know that would be going a bit far for most Filipinos)

CFO for uk if i dont get a mistake they only conduct a seminar every thursday i got mine in Manila office. You have to do seminar first before they issue you a cfo sticker same day when the visa is valid. And that seminar thing they have to interview each applicant asking the info about yr man so make sure u know his middle name like his mothers surename and also take with you some pictures of u and him as they will ask that as well and they will get copy on that.. My wife went to the CFO in Manila. There they required a copy of her hubbys (mine) divorce papers. A couple of friends who went with her at the same time did not bring divorce papers with them and had to return on another day with them.

As posted above, It is helpful to know all kinds of information about your husband. My wife and I did some practice quizzes on yahoo messenger in the run up to her CFO visits and this helped her to remember all the necessary information. I recall that she had to text me for something (cant remember now what it was), while she was there, in order to answer all of the questions. I get the impression that you could tell them just anything and they would know no different but my wife wanted to try and go through it without telling any lies - she felt more comfortable doing it that way. She was also asked for a photo of us both together and they accepted one from her cell phone.

I believe the reason the seminars were set up was to inform citizens going to other countries of their rights there. Great idea.

In practice it seems have become a kind of punishment for those who have found a way of getting a better life, meted out by those who are jealous that they have not been able to 'escape'

In our case my wife was coming to live in Spain. We attended on the Spain day but were told as I British she had to come back on the UK day. When she went to get the exit sticker in her PP they asked why if she was going to Spain she had done the UK day !!

Fortunately I had anticipated a problem and had a copy email from a senior person in CFO confirming that she had to attend the UK even though she was coming to Spain,

i'm already done with the CFO Seminar. what i did before the seminar is i went to the office and ask for the schedule days for applicants going to UK. i had my seminar on thursday. me and my hubby went there early 5:30am because i want to be the first in the list since they will only accpet 15 people a day. seminar starts at 8am ends at 12noon, then one-on-one counseling is on the afternooon.

the seminar AND cfo office is at different locations. seminar place is across USC north campus and the CFO office is at the old DFA building..

good place to stay near the CFO is Sampaguita Suite close to Sto. Nino church

Thanks.. I am from Davao City so it will be inconvenient to just go to Cebu and ask... Hehehe! I have sampaguita suites as one of my choices for accommodation. Thats very informative.. So i take it that seminars will be tuesdays and thursdays like the CFO Manila schedule...

Thanks Beth, this is what I have seen on their site.. But I was hesitant with the thing which says for emigrants.. ON their site, there is a different link for spouse/partners and emigrants *(emigrants' seminar usually takes three days) Thanks, I have been calling the numbers posted in the CFO site.. unfortunately, the staff are rude and they told me to call from number to number... AND the last number..... NOBODY is PICKING the phone...! Glad to have more information here... UK Forum should take over CFO Cebu Office.. Hahaha!

Feb, I have been calling all those numbers posted to clarify.. But nobody answered... God said "call, and you will be answered" BUT, that is NOT the case at CFO Cebu.. I just ended up desperate yesterday.. Nevertheless, thanks to the forum people... You're a great help...

Lol... That's creativity not lies... When the mind works to answer questions which you really know the correct answer... I took IELTS and lied in the speaking test.. JUst to answer the examiners question.. Hahaha! I am excited about the questions... )
