The problem may be that the MP may be getting a lot of emails saying "bravo" because a lot of people are simply ignorant to the fact that they thinkt hese changes are for everyone and not just those outside the European area!
Until you look into this at the level we all have its a mitigating reason as to why the ignorance would be so widespread..
