Unless your son or your wife has dual citizenship the standard visa is valid 21 days.
With Balikbayan Privileges it's 1 year.
If needed a visa extension can be arranged for 59 days on arrival at the airport.
... interesting question, Terry;... my wife is about to apply for British Citizenship. Once granted, we plan on revisiting the Phils - either later this year, or early next. Thing is, her current (and only passport to date) was issued in the Philippines, and is valid until September 2013. But, of course, she'd like to exchange it for a British one as soon as she's eligible to do so ... which would, presumably, invalidate the remaining time left on the Philippines' passport ... thus rendering us unable to avail ourselves of the Balikbayan privilege mentioned by Terpe.
