    What's in your breakfast?

They always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I agree Especially if you have plenty of choices on your table.
My typical daily breakfast are number 1, 3 and 4. sometimes 6. What about yours?

Wow now that is a big breakfast. I'm always in such a rush that breakfast is definitely on the back burner. Piece of toast if I'm lucky - and after being to a lecture by a nutritionist, I'm even feeling guilty about that.

Might even post a thread about what she was saying, frankly some of the stuff - I think she's a quack, but she has a Harley Street address

Poached egg on toast is mine.
Sometimes on a lazy Sunday morning (not many of those) I will have scrambled egg on toast topped with chopped smoked salmon. (that's my fave)

Not forgeting the most important 'ingredient' a nice intense espresso or two

I found that I miss the opportunity to enjoy a 'traditional' english breakfast in Philippines for the following reasons:-

    1. No proper bread
    2. Difficult finding proper butter (in fact any proper dairy product)
    3. Bacon isn't real bacon
    4. Sausages don't cut the mustard
    5. No black pudding

The eggs and tomatoes are OK though

he got nothing to complain about coffee at all aside from we normally bought it by small packs

otherwise we just go to out farm and harvest fresh native coffee he most prefer it than to spend

My latest delight from the Philippines is a kilo of coffee called Mt.Apo Altura Coffee. It's from Dizon Farms.
It says on the packet that it's "grown from chemical free arabica beans at altitudes of 1500 mts and above in the rich volcanic soil of Mt Apo"

I'm very very pleasantly surprised. My initial guess is that this coffee must be quite expensive.
It's quite a dark roast and and has rich smoky taste and smell.
But it's got a lovely smooth flavor without any real bitterness.
I've made it in both a cafetier and an espresso pot. The espresso pot is far better.
Well worth a try, I think, anyway.

Have you heard of this coffee? or Tried it?

I did enjoy Tocino when I was in the Philippines. (No porridge there )

Tocino with scrambled egg and toast.

BTW I had beef with cantonese sauce in a chinese reataurant recently and it tasted just like tocino...
