    Liverpool made it hard for themselves in this one...
    Cardiff were very good - they should be very pleased with their progress and ability - think the nerves of the penalties was too much for most of the players!

    I think in fairness most of the managers (apart from the "Chosen One") have taken time to build a squad and win the league and then develop a team havent they?
    I recall watching a documentary on BBC once that showed how Alex Ferguson was nearly given the boot just before he started to get some results and now look at him - irreplacable.

    With just one season in the managers position I think its too early to write Dalglish off - at least the owners have patience at Liverpool unlike Chelsea for example.

    Sure it would have been embarrassing to lose against Cardiff but didnt Man U lose against Crystal Palace in the League Cup at home in November after extra time...
