Perhaps the answer would be for April to also find some other interests ? This is bound to take a little time so soon after settling in a new country and culture.

I think what needs to be kept under control is the possibility of distancing yourselves too much from one another.

Tell him to wear some headphones, and then take up lastlid's great idea of sharing the sofa together ?

In my lounge(/games room ) we have 2 TVs side by side, so if my boy is playing games I can watch the other TV, or vice versa.

Second-hand TVs are cheap enough.

I also have a great way of keeping his company.....the heating is only on in the lounge.

I usually play when Rina is otherwise busy - shower, sleeping etc, sometimes she sits next to me and plays games on her phone or ipad - we dont have any issues about it.
I rent most games via Love Film - certianly not paying full whack these days - would rather take Rina out for dinner!

I love Forza 4 but playing on Live I am a dirty racer and end up crashing in highly competitive situations so if you guys wanna race one night lets hook up - my x-box live name is "tonetrainer".

I used to play COD and Halo but I'm too slow now..

I need to get through a few more career stages in Forza4 first though...just started on it really and only up to level 10, albeit in about an hour and a half.

I also race online in Shift and Shift Unleashed2, and quite competitive in that.

I use my son's profile 'richtbizcuit'.

Actually not been online for a few weeks now because the old Xbox died and we've only just got the replacement.

I’m afraid playing x-box is a “boy thing” of the 21st century. My 23 year old son plays it regularly nearly every day but not to excess. My partner doesn’t have any interest in it at all, but does discreetly play iPad games from time to time. I personally do not have any interest in playing games.

Taking into account your thread about sharing mobile phone/ Facebook messages and this one too, I get the feeling that you are worried about your relationship. You really do need to sit down and speak to your husband about how you feel otherwise things will not improve. Make sure that when you do that there aren’t any distractions and that your emotions are under control too as you will be far more likely to gain a positive resolution between you.

Generations today are very different...it is maybe because of the advent of new discoveries or shall I say the technology. It greatly affects the activities of individuals may it be married or not. Before I thought him playing Xbox is inappropriate since he is already married but when I found out that there's a lot of married men here playing it, I came to realised that I have to consider and accept that it is a recreation for him just like other men here playing it...besides its not everyday, it's only one night in a week.

I usually play Forza 3 & 4 and PGR 4 - can play Halo beyond that its Rock Band and Kinect games where you have to make an ass of one's self!
