The government has said its e-Borders programme will be able to pre-check every non-European Economic Area (EEA) airline visitor to the UK from next month.

I thought they were checked when applying for a visa, AND by the airline ?

I tend to agree with Dedworth. It's a very bold claim, but lets wait and see.
US have something similar, and many would suggest it's not effective where it should be.

the gov has said many times acquiring citizenship and ILR is a privilege ( one you pay for ) so let thous who don't have it a pre-check should be done (whether their European or not) and have bio data checked on arrival.
