you might want to clear your cookies, in your browser (depending which you have) should be tools, clear recent history, click cookies and time range - everything and then clear now if your using firefox.

try deleting just one document to see what happens.....

Right, I deleted a file I didn't really want in the copy My documents and it also went from the original My documents! I deleted a pic from the original My documents and it also went the copy My documents, so it seems whatever I do to one, happens to the other, so I obviously can't delete the copy My documents as it will also delete the original My documents that I want!

are you clicking on a shortcut to mydocs ? sounds like you only have one mydoc's directory, but your clicking on a shortcut to it and thinking its a copy of mydocs ????

do you have any backup software installed ??

The original My documents is on my desktop. The way I get to this copy of My documents, is: C drive, Documents and settings, Owner, then My documents is there. Maybe they are one and the same?! Just never seen it there before! I was thinking that the 2x My documents of 134GB add up to more than the 250GB hard-drive!

Don't have any back-up programs as far as I know.

yes sounds like its the same directory your looking at, but getting to view it 2 different ways.

you wouldn't really have 2 copies of mydocs anyway, maybe if you had installed windows again on a pc that had windows already installed on it, because it was corrupt and you didn't want to wipe the drive.

Went to parents for Mothers day, so of course left it going, got home and i had crashed and restarted again!

So not re-started again and just hope that it doesnt do it again.

Can't do a defrag as you need 15% free space and I can't do that as I only have 2% due to the 81GB in Application data and 134GB in the copy of My Documents! The hard drive is 250GB and I have a 1.5TB external hard-drive.

you need to somehow get them trojens off your comp, a trojen is exactly what it says, it gets on your comp then allows spyware in, which can copy your passwords ect, some trojens are not so serious, but they must go, the crashing maybe because your drive is too full , try work on 1 thing at a time, delete anything you no longer require, and copy to external hard drive or usb drive anything you think you can take off temp and store it will free up a bit more space, then emsisoft might work better, i think the crash is because the lack of space for the scanner to work properly, there is another emsisoft scanner, i think its a slightly smaller version of the same, its called emergency kit scanner it can be loaded to a usb stick and run from that if required, always run update before running, once you have it there are a choice of scans, only use the top one emergency kit scanner , the other 3 are a more complicated thing u dont need

emsisoft also have a forum, its free to join and advise is from emsisoft team of profesionals, i have had great help from them, before you post your problem you must go to a start page which will tell you what to do, before you post, it is tools u need to collect information they need to help you, follow instruction then go back to post, dont expect an imediate reply, could be same day or day after, then they will give you other instructions and any tailor made tools to suit your problem , maybe better scanners to gather info, which you do then repost as instructed, its not so hard if you follow what they say,
it will proberbly be a guy called something like shadow puterdude , i highly recomend you do this,
its all very well getting advise here, but your getting flooded with too much different ideas to try help, where a one to one from an expert is far better

by the way that is where they will give you the emergency kit

Yeah, I'll close everything down shortly and leave the scan going.

I looked at the Sonic record now in Application data and there were a lot of files such as this: RN: 4B.tmp(3_1) RecordNow! Image file 2,097 KB.

When I clicked to open them, it said Windows is preparing to install!

Can I delete these? As they are taking up 26GB!

I found the section with all the memory in Apple computer was the 'MobileSync' section which is 51GB! I guess that is maybe my iphone's backups? I can't sync or do a restore from back-up with my phone as there isn't enough space on the PC! I could maybe delete some of the iphone back-ups that I don't require?

im not sure what they are,is sonic a film or game downloader?, my youngest daughter had problems with films being downloaded that she hadnt given ok to do so, i remember her saying it was filling up her hard drive fast, i think she had to delete all to do with that site and downloads,

i just done a search on google for Sonic record now in Application data, seems a lot of people on different forums having similer probs, hard drive space, and hidden files that fill space because of sonic,

have a search see what i mean

i still think you should see emsisoft forum for help, explain trojens and crashing ect after you done their instructions and start your help thread,
they will find anything else either out of date or fragments of out of date programs that need sorting such as adobe, flash java , windows missing updates ect, will get ur comp running like new

Left the Emisoft deep clean going last night, came in this morning to find that the PC had crashed again! So I'll try that forum tonight.

I do have a Nero recording program disc, so I could load that and if it seems to be working fine, then delete the Sonic record now?

I guess I can't delete the Apple stuff until I've made space on the PC, run the Emisoft program, then can do a sync/restore to back-up on my iphone and delete the unwanted back-ups if it's they that are taking up the more space. If it isn't them, I need to find out what I need to do, to minimize that 51GB of space!

Another thing I can do is to move my itunes music onto my External drive as that's taking up 90GB in My documents!

any space you can create will help for running any diagnostic tools, you will get from emsisoft, before downloading the emsisoft emegency scanner it might be good idea to delete the one you have now as a tempory measure to create more space,
