    Shootings in france

While the governments in the U.K are sending our troops to stop al qaeda from operating in afghanistan they are operating in europe. I fear something will happen here.

It's just a matter of time - not only do we let dangerous undesirables into the country but there is also the treasonous enemy within

    Agreed.

A pity he jumped. If they'd have got him alive the French could have handed him over to the Yanks for a rendition trip to Guantánamo and a spot of waterboarding.

On one hand he is better off out of the way but there are lots of his buddies knocking about.

No, he got what he deserved and at minimal cost to the public.

Just heard on the news. The father of the gunman is suing the french police for murder. Unbelievable.

Unlike us the French won't put up with this sort of crap - I'd expect him to be receiving an early morning visit from some masked men

The French Police aren't wasting any time in arresting the vermin

Elite anti-terrorist police swooped on 20 suspected Islamic extremists in dawn raids across France today.

The arrests came after a French Muslim fanatic shot dead seven people in a killing spree this month — which President Nicolas Sarkozy has described as France's 9/11.

Those arrested in the co-ordinated busts were suspected of having links to banned radical Islamic group Forsane Alizza, police sources revealed.

But officials said the raids were "not directly related" to the shootings by self-confessed al-Qaeda follower Mohamed Merah in Toulouse and Montauban, south west France.
