It wasn't too bad today. But I am sure it does get busier as you described. Anything like that here in the UK tends to be so popular and oversubscribed. But there is nothing like it on the Isle of Man. There's a few castles but they are so poor by comparison.

Yes, a great part of our heritage.

You have "Mad Sunday" there on I.O.M. the day during the TT race week that everybody that has a scooter or a Harley can race round the island without fear of a speeding ticket, often with fatal consequences

Philippines has its equivalent around this time every year although foreigners are banned since 2010

as usual, took a shot of the signage wherever we are for our scrapbooking. ?
I did that myself the other week. We have a huge industrial water wheel here and I took a pic of the signage as it explained how it worked.

I've also heard that it was where the author of the Lord of the Rings use his imagination & wrote the book.

see the trees??? beautiful isn't it? Sarehole Mill is part of the Tolkien Trail, which follows the childhood footsteps of the author and the places that influenced his writing

Well, I have to confess I haven't been to Moseley Bog! But I am a Tolkien fan. So another one to go on the list. I used to live in Leicestershire but you never see all there is to see even if its in your own back yard.

    Lastlid,
Thanks for the links. I have driven round the TT course in a hire car, albeit a little more sedately.
One of the few places in UK where you used to be able to leave the keys in your car and your front door unlocked
Hope it hasn't changed too much

Funny you should say that, my boss rents our office from a landlord who has a new ferrari. He often parks it next to my car. He never locks it..... Amazing but true.

The youtube vid of the IOM police officer is from last year. They do something like that every year. He's the local sergeant apparently. Notice the white hats....
