    Bicol Express

    and here is one of my favorite dish..this is also one of my original recipe..

    Makes 16 servings
    Estimated preparation time: 30 minutes Estimated cooking time: 55 minutes
    Ingredients:
    2 kg. Pork, sliced thinly
    2 c. Baguio Beans
    2 c. Jalapeno Peppers (red)
    2 c. Jalapeno Peppers (green)
    4 pcs. Onion, minced
    8 cloves of Garlic, minced
    3 c. Ginger Root, sliced thinly
    ˝ c. Hot chili pepper,
    4 Tbsp. Cooking Oil
    2 c. Coconut Milk
    2 c. Coconut Cream
    ˝ c. Bagoong
    3 Tbsp. Soy Sauce

    Procedure:
    1. In a cooking pan, sauté minced garlic and onion.
    2. Add the Jalapeno peppers and ginger.
    3. Add pork and simmer for about 10 minutes.
    4. Then add the coconut milk and Hipon and simmer for about 20 minutes.
    5. Add the chili peppers and baguio beans and cook until dish gets a little dry.
    6. Add the coconut cream and simmer until the sauce thickens.

    try to cook this one, and I'm telling you..you can't hardly stop eating..lol

    Looks like some sliced Okra in there.

    Have you used a Filipino word for that ?

    no, its not okra, those are jalapeno peppers..while the other green veg that you can see are baguio beans..

    nice recipe..but what part of the pork you been using?? bellly or loin or pork chop or any..

    Talking of pork. Mrs Lastlid and I were shopping in Tesco earlier and she wanted pork belly. But the butcher explained that there was none left and so we bought boneless pork chops. He then said that all the filipinos had been in and bought up the pork belly. There are so many here in Douglas and he said the care home that his dad stays in is run by 98% filipinas! He said "where would we be without them?!"

    True story. He said they were very caring.

    BTW Half the checkout tills at Tescos here are manned by Filipinas. No exaggeration.
