yeahh chooo...maybe you are not prone to hayfever. some people easily catch it. It's also the immunity system of your body. But there are a lot of remedies, natural tablets & medicines that we can buy over the counter. I guess living close to the sea is safe because the air is more fresher. Hayfever is a type of allergy caused by pollen or dust that makes a person sneeze or having watery eyes. It's seasonal. I don't really know how it feels but maybe it's like a bit of bronchitis. When I was little, every summer in the Philippines as we live near this 'caimito'- star apple tree & everytime it blooms (some flowers comes out then the fruit follows), I easily got sick. I sneeze & even have breathing difficulty...maybe it's something like that.

I do get it. Had it from the age of 13. But I never had it at sea or in the desert. I didnt have it in the Philippines and not yet in the Isle of Man. I am allergic to grass pollen in the main. I had tests done about 10 years ago and it was grass pollen that does it for me.

I once worked on a rig just off Blackpool for a few years. You could see the rig from the beach. I never got hayfever then either. Yes, I think the sea air dilutes it.

oh thank you lastlid. it reminds me that my broncitis then upgraded to asthma Doc said it's genetic too (my mum). But when I gave birth to my first son, I don't have it anymore. It's a miracle really I don't know what happens. But (other topic) I am not prone to broncitis and asthma anymore but I suddenly I become allergic to my fave prawns & crabs - after I gave birth to my first son.... I miss eating them. But in return I don't have the pollen/ dust allergy anymore.

Thanks again for the thread...I will have a read now
