It is, but you'd think someone could have salvaged it instead of polluting the sea with scarce resources....especially with the value of metal being what it is.

They can manage to dive on the Titanic ...

I think they did consider that Graham (according to write ups)

As the Coast Guard was readying to fire on the vessel, a Canadian fishing vessel, the 62-foot Bernice C, claimed salvage rights over the ghost ship in international waters.

Canadian crew unable to salvage vessel

Plans to sink it were halted so the Canadian crew could have a chance to take the stricken ship. A Canadian official with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press that the Bernice C was unable to tow it.
To be honest it does bring back some sad times for me. I lived in Sendai in Japan for a while and still remember happy times, happy places and happy friends.

Hopefully this new Cherry Blossom season will bring renewed happiness.

Yeah, I did notice that Peter....but seemed a pretty weak effort. The authorities must have been tracking the thing for weeks.

I agree, it's a reminder of the awful tragedy that took place. Those poor poor people.

Hard to believe it's so long ago now.
