Human Planet
I've started watching a documentary series called Human Planet. It's about human life in the extremes of earth. (includes some Philippine stories too)
I have to say it's the most awesome, most inspiring, most interesting, most thought provoking series of programmes I've ever had the pleasure of watching.
The photography is amazing.
It's another wonderful BBC co-production with Discovery. I've decided I have to buy the DVD set.
Anyone ever seen it?

They actually had some great graphics about the earth orbit, tilts and wobbles etc leading to past climate changes

human planet, amazing, just makes you wonder where did us british go wrong, to much comfort, not to long ago ou had to think hard to get by, but it seems life is easy for us now,be good to get back to living of the land

At your prompting I watched it. Humans hunting mammoths to extinction......but maybe in 5 years the Japanese will have cloned one inside an Asian elephant using DNA from the marrow of a frozen mamoth...Jurassic Park....I happened to watch a programme the other day called Secrets of The Woolly Mammoth.

They (we) know so much more these days than we did when I was a student. What's more TV has a lot more to offer as picture quality has improved and TV cameras have access to almost everywhere on the planet, with relative ease.....
Watched episode 2. Deserts. What an amazing contrast to the Philippines, in terms of rainfall. I spent about 3 years in the Sahara (including fieldbreaks) - its certainly both hot and desolate. Great program.
