What I tried to say earlier was that it might be better to give book keeping a miss in the RP as you seem far too honest..
I hire a bookeeper here and she has many friends in the BIR..
Thats the kind of bookeeper that seems to do well here..If you know what I mean!

A friend here had a go at beekeeping about 15 years ago. He did a lot of research and leased a small lot about 2kms from his house in Cavite.

6 months later a typhoon wrecked the project and he lost his bees. He gave up the idea,
There are a few honey bee farms in the area,some have open days to cater for school field trips

Yes, it strikes me that ones business in the Philippines needs to be typhoon, earthquake, volcanic eruption proof and floodproof....

I don't see why bee hives can't be made typhoon-proof.
Have a look in London Zoo.
Theirs are indoors, with a tunnel to the outside.
I made quite a good living breeding small livestock and cage birds.
I had a LOT of them though, and it was a full-time job.
Any project like that needs to be securely enclosed and next to your residence. (Main reason I ruled out a fish farm....which would have suited me too. Ok for the locals, but not recommended for expats....like so many businesses there).

I would agree. One would need to "fortify" appropriately over more normal circumstances. They suspend drilling operations in the South China Seas so I imagine it might affect beekeeping.I don't see why bee hives can't be made typhoon-proof.

That is one buisness me & my wife would like to start is the pet shop trade when we move to the phils in the distant future.... I don't know what the rules & regulations are regarding this

That's why I always kept a low profile and operated my business from behind 8 foot high walls and gates, with CCTV.
I did nearly buy a vacant tropical fish shop though, but thought better of it.
Could you not simply register the business in your wife's name....to avoid getting caught up with those special rules for foreigners?Neither do I, and I didn't want to get involved with such things either (probably specially made-up for foreigners
