I don't see why bee hives can't be made typhoon-proof.

Theirs are indoors, with a tunnel to the outside.

I made quite a good living breeding small livestock and cage birds.
I had a LOT of them though, and it was a full-time job.

Any project like that needs to be securely enclosed and next to your residence. (Main reason I ruled out a fish farm....which would have suited me too. Ok for the locals, but not recommended for expats....like so many businesses there).
