Dont get me wrong I do agree with what the government is trying to do BUT! there is no need to slap a £25000 minimum income on or make spouses that are already here stay for 5 years. All they have to do for god sake is sort the genuine ones out. I would have no problems supporting my wife and stepdaughter over here for 5 years under the new rulings. I just want us to be a family. Is that too much to ask?

It just makes me sick that these changes might go ahead. Afterall before I got married I phoned the UKBA up to ask advice about incomes they told me as long as you have a job and a monthly income you wont have a problem. They also told me there was no minimum limit. They asked me where I worked. I just wish now that I had that in writing.

I spent this evening watching some of these UK Border Force programs on Youtube, Andy. I never watched them before. They really tell a story. Yes, they are picking out many illegal immigrants or attempts at illegal immigration and the focus should remain on that rather than the soft underbelly of the genuine applicants like ourselves. I can appreciate that it is time consuming and expensive to pin down a bunch of Asians posing as Rumanians BUT.......

I got Mrs Lastlid to watch a few and she understands a bit better now too.

because Brits are easy targets, you can't get your wife here without a visa, you dont want to go the illegal route ways because were decent law abiding citizens.

spouses of British citizens should be excluded from any immigration laws, it should be your legal right to bring your spouse here.

its these changes dont effect a European living in the UK they can still bring their spouse and step kids and claim benefits, they have a virtual legal right to bring them here, the only chance of UKBA refusing them a visa is if they have evidence its a marriage of convenience.

we know there are about 1million illegal immigrants in the UK, there must be the same number from eastern Europe here to, pick on that 2 million before you pick on your own citizens
