    New and job in uk

I am finally in England but am so bored and feeling depressed specially when my husband goes to work, I have been trying to look for a job but no luck so far.

I don't know anyone and I can't find a job what to do?

Maybe someone from here can give me an advice to get a job somewhere if you know anything nearby Luton, Bedfordshire or any Filipino nearby I can talk to or meet with am going nuts being in the house all the time in few days time i'll be a month here already.

Sometimes am making fun of my husband that we should just go back to Philippines but he can't work in Phils.. I can though....

I wish you the best of luck in finding work (try your local Jobcentre) and new friends there, but please try to be patient rather than putting pressure and stress on your partner.

You haven't been here long yet and it would not be fair to talk about going back to the Phils so soon after he has gone to a great deal of expense, effort, stress and sacrifice in bringing you here.

Hopefully some of the other members will be able to recommend social groups or other members in your area where you can find some new friends and interests.

The supermarkets seem to employ Filipina's and you might make friends there too?
Or perhaps if money not the main issue volunteer at your local hospital

Hi there brokenpieces!!! When i got here last oct. i was so bored too, I almost cry everyday bec. i miss my kids and my dogs...but as graham said i always consider the feeling of my husband (his effort and the expense)....while im waiting for my flr i tried to familiarized myself of how to find a job and what to do when its time.....i tried to keep myself busy too, just walking around places alone, going to shops and malls, and soon going to gym everyday and swimming...rather than sitting in ur house and made myself insane....when i finally got my flr i never stop looking for a job,and my husband told me that i should slow down bec. it will come if it comes but still it never stops me...after 10 days i got an offer for a part time job and i never had a second thought to grab it...i know that its better to have a full time job but its better thn nothing....so just be patient and try to amuse urself in different things.....gardening is best too,to pass ur time...
