I'm loathe to click on those links now...in case THEY are bad sites.
Seriously though, I'm wondering if this was just an IE problem, which is a browser I never use (because of its reputation for being insecure).
I use Mozilla Firefox, with Google Chrome as a secondary browser.
Also I use AVG antivirus, plus a anti-spyware/malware programme.
I'll check out the above though.
