Urgent IRL Application request

Been trying to book premium service for my wifes IRL but UK Border Agency site is a bit confusing.
One page indicates that if you cannot book a date prior to existing Visa expiring then you should apply by post. Her present Spouse Visa runs out on 5th May and the earliest date I can get for an appointment is 30th May. I was led to believe that as long as a application has been booked prior to the expiry of existing Visa than that is ok?
Trying another route I tried to download application form prior to booking but it won't open online although I have proper applications.
Even Border Agency website is useless in providing help or contact numbers to telephone.
Any help would be gratefully received as we only have a few days left and I don't really want to apply via post due to the excessive time delays in processing.

you need to go online at about 11:55pm and check then as most will go pretty quick,you can only book 6wks in advance but you've only got what 10 days left.
looks like the only way you might get one is if someone cancels or if you can get one from a solicitor as some book slots hoping to charge more for them when people become deseperate.

might be a good idea to prepare to use the post.

Sorry to say, but you seem to left the application quite late. I think at this stage you'll find postal application is the only option now.

It's very important the application is posted in time to arrive before current visa expires.

If you were planning on PEO application I guess the applicationj is already fully compliant, but anyway just spend a little time to double check that.
The positive side is that you will save money by doing postal.
Just have to stay calm during an expected long wait.
It would be very rare indeed for the ILR not to be granted.
