Best bet is to check locally

Sorry can't be more helpful. These routine operations vary significantly in price from hospital to hospital depending on all sorts of issues, even down to the size of room etc.
For that kind of procedure no need to go to "high-class" place. Just a good hospital.

there is an eye clinic in Makati near the Rockwell centre.

maybe you can email some of the clinics below belfast_dude., the Healthway Medical Clinic looks pretty popular.

Of course you’re right to think about cost when you’re considering cataract surgery, but also be aware that untreated cataracts are the leading cause of blindness in the Philippines. The treatment is simple and effective but not readily available - or affordable - especially in rural areas. They are the main cause of impaired vision worldwide, especially in developing countries, affecting men and women equally. If cataracts are mild, spectacles and bright reading lights may be sufficient. Cataract operations are generally very successful with a low risk of serious complications, but must be performed by a specialist ( ophthalmic ) surgeon.

Cataracts are cloudy / opaque patches in the lens and can develop in one or both eyes.
The lens is the normally transparent structure at the front of the eye. It should be clear and allow light to pass through to the back of the eye.

Cataracts are most commonly age-related ( in the UK, at least half of people over 65 years old ).
Rarely babies may have cataracts when they are born, or children develop them at a young age.
    Other risk factors :
    • family history
    • smoking
    • lifestyle, such as poor diet
    • overexposure to sunlight
    • steroid medicines
    • health conditions, such as diabetes

If you have problems with your vision, make an appointment to see your optician ( optometrist).
You should have your eyes tested regularly, say every two years. Cataracts may be diagnosed even if you have no symptoms. Other serious - but also treatable - conditions such as glaucoma may also be diagnosed before causing symptoms.
