"CNN PRODUCER NOTE JherryPhons was visiting the Pugad Adventure resort in the Philippines when he found himself face to face with an eagle. He says it was his first time seeing an eagle up-close. He says the eagle's eye captured his attention right away because of its beauty. 'It took me an hour and more than 20 shots just to photograph its stunning eyes because its head kept moving,' he says. 'I was even begging the eagle to look at me and smile.

"This is a video of the Sardine Run in Moalboal, Cebu. Unlike the sardine run of Africa, this phenomenon happens all year round in the Philippines. It is also a rare glimpse into the predating habits of elusive thresher sharks that come to feed on the balls all day round."

"The Big Lagoon found in El Nido, Palawan is one of the best lagoons I've ever seen.

The long stretch of crystal clear turquoise water between the limestone walls that leads to the lagoon is so inviting you'd want to jump into straight away. Entering the Big Lagoon is an amazing moment of visual spectacle."

"I took this photo of an Ifugao woman two years ago when I went to see the Banaue Rice Terraces, a world-famous tourist spot located in the Ifugao Province, Philippines. She was sitting together with several other old Ifugao women who were calmly watching the tourists admiring the rice terraces when I approached her on impulse to ask for her photograph, which she gladly obliged. "The highlight of the Philippines’ entertainment and sports industries is seen today on the construction and soon to open of the Mall of Asia Arena.

Mall of Asia Arena is a world class entertainment and sports venue with state of the art facilities. It has a seating capacity of 16,000 and a full house capacity of 20,000. It also offers a 2,000 capacity car park building.

The Arena is expected to open on May 19, 2012 and will host the concert of Lady Gaga on May 21.

Entertainment and Sports are two big industries in the country. The Arena will benefit spectators and fans, and would boost the country’s tourism industry as well".

For anybody who might be interested....

" “The Philippines is a very digital nation,” said Hong Kong-based CNN anchor and correspondent Anna Coren during a recent interview at the Shangri-La Makati.
She elaborated on ways that the network continues to stay competitive and accessible via a variety of platforms, and how Filipinos can get the latest news from the media outlet.
“People here are tech-savvy and social media-savvy,” she said. “CNN is very interactive. We have the official website (cnn.com). We have iReport, which is big now in “Eye On” coverage. We invite people in the Philippines and people who have traveled to the country to send in their stories. And people here can follow us on Twitter.”
Coren is in the country for CNN’s weeklong “Eye On the Philippines,” focusing on different aspects of Filipino life and culture. The live reports started Monday; several portions and interviews are airing this week.
