Angry A wave from sunny Scotland (not!!)

Hi All, My name is Meriam- another newcomer to this website, though i've been having sneaky peeks at some of the posts here for a few weeks now. I'm originally from Cagayan de Oro,now living in Scotland. I did have difficulty registering on this site too and was about to give up. Maybe Admin could look into that?
Okay, i'm off to read more posts. Now where's that one about that b*%$dy Phyland Ynterlink!!

    Hello Meriam
    Welcome to the forum.

I know and liked Cagayan de Oro, and have spent time there, the night market and the square cafe are good places to visit.
    Mick.

Hey irishman, i'm in East Kilbride, just 20mins outside Glasgow and its p@£%ing down in here at the mo! It mostly does- so any hopes of a summer heatwave should be accompanied by a good supply of anoraks and wellies. 'Been here for yonks and is working for a Scottish Coach Travel company. Mind you, i was back in CDO in March and was melting like an ice lolly in the heat! I know what you mean about the night cafe. That was my 1st visit back after almost 10 years and Cagayan sure has changed dramatically. Do you ever party with the expats at Kingston Lodge too? Is your Mrs from cdo?

So ... what's your impression of the notoriously Scottish climatic conditions? Bet you are [literally] stamping your feet to keep warm - like the rest of us up here in the far North.

Never mind ... you're in good company!

After 24 years Arthur, i've gotten used to it! lol. I do a lot hillwalking and have done a few pub stops in your lovely city. I wouldn't mind a bit of sunshine though. Well, here's hoping.....

Hi Mick, yeah, the night cafe is something else, isn't it? I would go home more often if it doesn't take too long to get there. You going back again soon?

Ooopss, sorry... it was Mickcant. We have some friends originally from Scotland who has gone back to live in Talakag, Bukidnon. Lovely and much more peaceful up there. Have you ever experienced Christmas and New Year in The Phils? Now, that's something else!

Hiya, the weather forecast in the next few days doesn't look that promising either. Suppose to be going on a hillwalk on Sunday. I'm deliberating wether to take walking poles or flippers!

Ahh ... Bukidnon! , it IS, indeed, a peaceful place.

And the monastery in the hills ... such a tranquil setting.

... although I'm not Catholic myself, we attended Holy Mass there - while staying with relatives of my wife - on the Sunday after she had applied for her Spouse Visa in January 2009.

Thanks Han, there must be a lot of people from Mindanao here. You're not too far from me and we've probably bump into each other in one of the Filipino dos. Hope you're not one of those affected by the Philand Ynterlink problem too. 'Hope that get sorted out soon.
