Wigan chairman Dave Whelan said Roberto Martinez is ok to leave if a big club comes in for him.

So with Kenny Dalglish leaving Liverpool, so far so good for the Wigan fans

Not a very ambiyious move imo....I would of expected a more high profile manager to be appointed.

I agree Stevie. Good small club managers dont necessarily make good big club managers. I thought they would have learnt that lesson after Hodgson. It's difficult to attract a Top Drawer manager though when your not in the champions league

Yes it is difficult Marco but money talks if they want the best then they have to be prpared to pay top money & given the stature of the club in world football this should also help them to be able to appoint a world class manager.

Yep it looks like they're rushing into it, when they have plenty of time. If they are going for a small club manager I've been more impressed with Rodgers at Swansea than Martinez. Swansea played some class football this year and Rodgers has some experience of working with big egos as he was on the staff at Chelsea.
