    aaaaah.....very cute.

I bought a white mini for the ex to learn to drive in because it was the only car in which she could reach the pedals !

I've lived with that for quite some years.
Despite the relatively high cost my wife remains hopeful

*Pink was a colour my daughter previously had an aversion to (for clothing). However ... since giving birth to her own daughter in the autumn of 2009, she's grown rather fond of *it!

Women, eh? Forever changing their minds ...

Oddly enough ... I've always liked wearing a pale pink shirt with a light grey suit!

    Perfect contrast, IMO.

Smart thinking, Graham ... a mini for a mini, eh!?

Strangely ... despite my late first wife being scarcely 5ft in height, she always had a penchant for BIG cars. ...

... I notice Moy has gone offline in the course of my ramblings.

    - by my somewhat monopolising the dicussion - !

I shall NOW, therefore, ~off and return it to its rightful owner.

    That's correct Arthur.
Despite their size, in tests Minis were found to 'fit' the widest range of heights. (Talluns like you and me being able to put knees each side of the steering wheel).

Here's the 4'10" ex-asawa with her rather large looking Mini.

I was talking to a woman at work who lives in Peel. The car was built on Peel and as you say Graham, was ahead of its time in terms of materials used to build it.....she said that the car manufacturing had been sold out to a firm on the UK mainland and are no longer manufactured in Peel.

Anyhow, great for all the Pinays....

    The smallest production car ever.

Look out for the Jeremy Clarkson commentary.

You'd think something like that would have a market again in these days of extortionate fuel prices.

    Electric or diesel/electric hybrid ?

100 miles to the gallon. No reverse. 2 stroke 49cc engine. Hand signals only.
    Quite funny.

From memory (I took the pics) that one is an Isetta....which has always been my favourite.

There were also bubble cars from (yes ) BMW and Messerschmitt.

Lots in the late fifties/early sixties when I was a kid. Only motorbike licence needed.

I do remember them. And then how they went out of favour as people realised how dangerous they were. Only the Reliant Robin seemed to survive for a while...

The meschersmitt is such a strange looking vehicle..

    You're older than I thought.

video clip is hilarious ... Jeremy driving the Peel through the BBC studios - without so much as the use of a "klaxon"! (pun intended!).

And when he picked it up at either end, to tow it - by hand - through the narrower corridors and on or off elevators ... !

Exactly. And when Moighnahan simply picked the car up and turned him in the other direction....
