If this attachment goes tru. Can I call the attention of RaynaPuti for this and the rest?

We ticked the box of fiancee in the settlement type box in part 7 number 78 on the form.

On the front page we ticked the unmarried partner cos we think thats the fiancee?

Is that the one thats wrong?? OHHHHH DEARRR!!!!!

You would think at £800 for a visa someone could make a bloody phone call or email you to clarify the situation.

    unbelievable.

Sorry to hear about your refusal, the type of application should be MARRIAGE not UNMARRIED PARTNER. I think both sides had fault with this mistakes, you should have double checked first guys and the ECO should have rang you and clarify which visa you was applying for. That's a shame, hopefully it will be sorted out soon. Be strong ate!

Yeah, we thought that UNMARRIED will be the fiancee cos FIANCEE is a woman that is engaged and not yet married so we think its Unmarried partner. (stupid me ) Anyway, I am strong, pretty and full of hopes still. hehehehehehe.

Oh dear.. Did you use the VIP service of VFS? I had the same problem when I submitted my Fiancee Visa application..I ticked the "FIANCE(E) / PROPOSED CIVIL PARTNERSHIP" category and didn't know it was for same sex! Good thing I availed the VIP service and the VFS attendant informed me I got the wrong form. So she gave me the option to go to a computer shop nearby and fill up a new application form again and then after around 30mins, I got back and she accommodated me again. She said lots of applicants, especially the Fiancee Visa applicants, have made mistakes because of that category. Fiance(e) should use the MARRIAGE type of form under SETTLEMENT category.

    Paying your visa application fee

From 6 February 2012 you must pay your visa application fee online in US dollars by Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card. We cannot accept any other types of credit or debit cards. When your online payment has been taken, you will receive a confirmation email from our payment provider WorldPay. You must submit a printout of this email as proof of payment when you submit your application at the visa application centre.

If you would like to withdraw your application and have your visa fee refunded, please use our refund request form.

If biometric data has been submitted and/or your application has been processed, you are not entitled to a refund either from the UK Border Agency or your card issuer. For more information, please see the Terms and Conditions of Service.

If you have applied for the wrong visa category, you will need to withdraw your application and reapply. Please follow the guidance above to request a refund, and then begin a new application.

Does that apply to Philippine applicants paying cash directly into the UKBA bank account?

i would have thought so, the fee is a 'processing fee' as this application has been processed i can't see them giving a refund but a call to the embassy would help.

thou, we know it doesn't cost £800 to process a application, it cost only around £200, so i think they should at least refund the £600 profit they make on each settlement application. maybe contacting your MP might help.

vfs probably didnt know you wanted to apply for a fiancee visa, if you were married and submitted your wedding cert then they would have noticed that you had filled in the form wrong/ticked the wrong box.

but probably becuase you were applying for a fiancee visa and had ticked unmarried partner visa, alarm bells in the case workers mind probably didnt go off

Having spent time working for the govt. Employment Benefit Office, dealing with complicated cases involving reams of paperwork on a daily basis (including fraud), I have to say that this case comes across as nothing but carelessness on the part of the case worker, bordering on UNCARING.

It's not rocket science to sniff out something that does not quite add up.

Whether or not you have the integrity to do something about it, or simply bin it is another matter.

Yes, we have stated in our letters that we are applying for a fiancee visa but maybe they didnt base the application into what docus and letters we submitted. They maybe based the app on that FIRST page, I attached above which says Unmarried Partner on the category type.

We also reviewed the link that you have given Sir Joebloggs and we didnt qualify to get a refund from the fee because we didnt withdraw the app before they reviewed and made the decision so our last resort is to re apply.

Anyway guys! We are not going to stop till I get a visa, hoping to re apply in few weeks times so we need your help on what "exact word" we will click for the FIANCEE VISA as we are a bit confused at the moment.

for building your hopes up by mentioning last week, that I was [quietly] confident of your visa being already on its way ... I just never doubted it somehow!

no no no no, dont be sorry Sir Arthur its fine! Maybe I am rejoicing and throwing a party now to celebrate my visa approval if we didnt made a mistake. Well, there are ways still and we wont stop yet till I get back and settled in the UK. We will re-apply and I might ask for you and the rest of the headmasters with the full force of the members to guide us in our second attempt for fiancee visa in few weeks time.

However ... now you've explained the reason for the refusal, it's gradually becoming more clear to me that the wrong visa appears to have been inadvertently applied for. Even so, given the System's complexity, the ECO ought - by rights - to've used his/her commonsense, contacted you about this [easily made] mistake and set you on the proper track - before jumping to conclusions about your application.

IMO ... HAD he/she done that, ... the incorrect form would've automatically been withdrawn and, in due course, superseded by the proper one - without the need for you to stump up another expensive fee.

Maybe they think "Oh HELLO! This is an easy 800 quid, REFUSED! "

What about the photos. They should have seen from the photos that it wasnt a same sex arrangement...

If they looked at all of the evidence then they should have spotted the apparent mismatch of info. The alarm bells should have gone off when the ECO saw your bf's pics with you.....

If you do, go through it very carefully before resubmission.

I still wonder why the ECO didn't notice your fiancees pics and deduce there may have been a basic error in your application.
