thats a thought there graham, when i was in the phils last time we went up north to see steve and charie, i noticed there was lots of new looking jeepneys, toyota made and i said at the time they would look great converted to a motorhome, i have tried looking for them on the net but no joy, these was the same lenth but brand new and just the door at the back with sealed windows at the sides,
I've only ever seen one (proper) motorhome in the Phils..in Angeles City.
I was amazed.

Import taxes are high on imported vehicles, but can't see it being a real problem.

Caravan?? Not sure to be honest.. A motor home might be a better idea.. You would probably have to choose a vehicle suitable for conversion and do it that way.. Perhaps a mini bus/school bus..
Other problem is where are you going to park? Where are you gonna plug in your A/C? Where are you gonna dump the contents of a chemical carzy? Where would you obtain the chemicals here? "Definitely out of stock Sir!"
I have some really good plans for shipping containers somewhere..Think you buy a 40ft container for around 120K each (You only need 2)..
No foundations required,Just a concrete slab.. When they are finished you wouldnt guess there was a container inside!!

Here`s the design I quite like and more suitable to a tropical climate in my view..
Advantages..No real foundations required..Just bolt them to a concrete pad. Earthquake proof,fire proof,good security,less labour intensive,No concrete posts or beams,Lots of designs and configurations. Foreigners can lease the land,assemble it and move the house at a later date on a container truck or two if they wish.
The roofs trusses are steel and welded onto the container lid... The perlins are all bamboo (Cheap as chips) and if it were me I`d thatch the roof with nipa or cogon grass and fit a nylon fishing net to protect it.. Natural roofs provide real insulation and with the gable type ends semi open at the top will provide really good airflow..

fred, thats just my way of thinking too, the pictures you have i have seen, some containers have side and back and from doors, even some have canvas roofs, lots of differant ideas could be made , all i want is to know what is the price of land that you will lease me
We have set a very reasonable price of 750.00 PHP per sqr meter.. One of our tenants in Cavite is leasing 500 Sqr mtr`s later this year from us.. Looks like I may have a few new neighbors!!
