    Dedworth.

People easily forget what state the country was in before Mrs.Thatcher was voted into power...as she was for the next 11 years.

    'Sick man of Europe'.

Strikes by bone-idle 'workers' who were just taking the piss and putting companies into bankruptcy (BL for instance), unions who fought change and modernisation just for the sake of it, so dulling Britain's competitiveness in world markets...

Yes there were faults on the management side too, but SOMEONE had to come along who had the balls to pick the country up by the scruff of the neck and sort things out.

Like her or loathe her, that's what Maggie Thatcher did.

She stayed a few years too long though IMO.

Far worse was to follow with Tony Bliar and his bunch of unpatriotic robbing hypocritical pirates....financing the fake good life with debt and opening our borders to millions of parasites, while busily lining their own 'socialist' pockets.

I have more time for the old Tories quite frankly.
Yes, they represent the rich and the wannabe rich, but they're happy to show you how to get rich too....not in debt and 'dependent'.

The newspaper article was more to do with the demise of Europe in general. Not specifically to do with any one British PM.........outwith their control.

That's why I said 'she stayed a few years too long though IMO'.

Every party starts off with the good intentions....fixing a few things etc, then self-interest, corruption and greed set in, but that's politicians for you....of all parties.

Perhaps there should be time limits set on party leadership.
