potential direct flights to Manila

I don't think there has ever been a proper direct flight (non stop) from London to Manila, due to the distance. The KLM one used to stop in KL and I think the old BA one used to stop in HK.

But with Boeing's new Dreamliner, a non stop flight should now be possible.

Was the KLM one stopping in Kuala Lumpur some years ago cos the one they've just discontinued was non stop A'dam to Manila ?
