Yes, I was impressed too...especially as my dad could have been on one of those warships.

Should the Britannia have been withdrawn from service ?... that is the question .

Apparently the Queen was heart-broken, as it really was a 'home' for her, away from the press etc.

What an amazing shop window it was for this country.

Have to admit though, from the little bits of the BBC coverage I saw, the BBC commentary was awful. Some absolutely stupid and totally incorrect information was given.

Real shame about Britannia, would be nice for her to have a replacement.

    Agree on the commentators.

Some of them should stick to Blue Peter or Big Brother.

Personally I think it was a great Jubilee weekend.
How wonderful to see so many smiling faces and to see so many flags waving.

There were so many more positives than negatives

    Just my opinion.

I'm not a royalist by any stretch of the imagination, which is unusual considering my job, but I do think that the whole Jubilee celebrations were quite amazing. I think it is something to be proud of, much more then the olympics in fact.
As mentioned, my only real comment is BBC's awful commentary.

I agree, and a lot of people fail to realise how important the Monarchy is in binding together the nation.

Fully agree the BBC commentary and presenters were an absolute disgrace - no doubt those responsible will be picking up fat bonus cheques. What made my blood boil was the frump like woman on the Gloriana boat gushing that it was about "empowerment and diversity" what a load of left wing kak

...and the ignorant cow who while interviewing an old 'war hero type', who (when 80+) do speak a little slowly, turned her back on him when he's mid-sentence without a bloody thanks, and off she walks to squeeze some more pointless garbage into her presentation.

Why the hell does everything have to be rushed along at break-neck pace on both TV and radio these days...ie, quantity over quality ?

"Oh, sorry I'll have to rush you" .

    WHY ???

They've got somebody on who's got something fascinating to say...maybe come from the side of the world, but they've got to 'move on' after 2 minutes because the next topic is about a woman who's dog swallowed a credit card.

It's no different on the supposedly sensible 'Today' programme on the radio. I've lost count of the number of times I've got up early, not because I couldn't sleep, but because I was going to sling the radio out the blinkin window !

    s !

Here's another trollop who had a puerile online pop at the Jubilee

Speaker’s wife ‘loons’ jibe at fans

Speaker's wife Sally Bercow branded royal supporters “mindless, flag-waving loons” — before going to the Diamond Jubilee service yesterday.

Mrs Bercow, 42, tweeted that she was “underwhelmed” by Sunday’s Jubilee flotilla.

She added: “Detested bunting, despaired at mindless, flag-waving loons.”

She said she thought twice before joining hubby John at the St Paul’s service, declaring: “I just don’t believe in a monarchy.”

She should keep her mouth shut and stick to sharing caravans with Pikey scum
