Three immigration offenders have been removed from the UK following UK Border Agency raids in the Chatham and Cranbrook areas.

Acting on intelligence, officers visited a residential address in the Cranbrook area on 28 May 2012, where they found a woman from the Philippines who had not left the UK after her visa had expired. The 30-year old woman was arrested and detained by theour officers before being removed on 7 June 2012.

A second intelligence led visit by officers, this time to an address in Chatham on 29 May 2012, led to the arrest of 2 men, aged 26 and 28, from India who had also overstayed their visas. They were placed in immigration detention before being removed on 5 June 2012.

Karyn Dunning, who heads the UK Border Agency's local immigration team for Kent said:

'We gather intelligence about people who remain in the UK in breach of their visa conditions and we are taking action against those not entitled to be here.

'We are determined to crack down on illegal immigrants and anyone found living or working here illegally is liable to be detained and removed.'
