CAN SOMEONE PLEASE SHARE TO ME YOUR EXPERIENCE AT HEATHROW? THE ARRIVAL STEP BY STEP GUIDE? WAS IT DIFFICULT TO GET PASS THE UK BORDER AGENCY?
or if i use one month over here, Will it not endanger my application for ILR after my visa expires??
My wife asked me to do the same, as she hadn't been outside of the Philippines before, but I couldnt. So I met her halfway at Amsterdam airport - she flew KLM.

The qualifying period for ILR is 24 months living in UK. As long as you arrive with enough time to complete the 24 months you'll be OK
Try not to worry too much about your Heathrow arrival. It will all be smooth and there'll be no problems.
Be sure you have all your important documents handy in your carry-on.
Congratulations,,Welcome here in UK...as long you have your Visa nothing to worry about,,I arrived in Heathrow and it took me 15 minutes in the queue at 11 pm..again CONGRATULATIONS..

I travelled to Heathrow alone last April this year and everything went alright. You just have to bring everything you need with you (esp important docs), be attentive, confident and you will be okay.

I actually went through the UKBA control point with my wife. We went through together. But through Manchester. I can tell you that it was very easy. Probably took all of about a minute or two at the control point desk.
No mention of TB checks or anything like that. The UKBA officer asked about where we (my wife) were heading. And we both presented our passports.

My wife came here alone, via heathrow on Emirates and apart from the time to get through immigration she had no issue.
She had a chest x-ray, letter from me addressed to the UKBA person, in case she needed it (but she didn't) and she wasn't asked for the chest x-ray.
She was welcomed and came out t3 arrivals into my arms!
For us a positive experience.

Few hours before the plane takeoff, The captain will announce arrival time, connecting flight etc. You just have to listen to it, There will be flight attendants at the airport who will announce connecting flight as well and It's always free to ask if your confuse or If you didn't hear it right
Consider flying to France then jumping in the back of a Britain bound truck if you want to avoid any dealings with the UKBA

The Immigration officer was polite and chatty.
You would be all right. I travelled to UK alone, and it was my first flight abroad. The thought of it was scary but as long as you know how to pretend that you are not nervous, you will be fine. I have been watching Nothing to Declare and it seems that Immigration officers are trained to look for arriving passengers who look terrified and nervous (you will be subject for scrutiny--- lol).
Just smile, and show HEATHROW that it is your Nth time travelling.
P.S. You can also ask for a landing card before the plane takes off and fill it with the details asked for so you would not be the last woman in a long queue. Have fun.

Every airport is different in layout. But as you disembark your first flight you should soon pickup signs and screens with flight information on. Just focus on such information. However, if need be ask a member of the groundstaff. If you are flying Etihad then you can easily check with one of the many Etihad groundstaff representatives in Abu Dhabi, for example.
It's not so difficult, make sure you have your documents together and organised. After checking in your bags you are given boarding passes which will have on them the flight time, the gate you will go to to board the plane, and the flight number which will be displayed on the information boards telling you to wait or proceed to gate or now boarding. For the transfer flight make sure you go to the correct terminal, and look for the flight number and gate number. If your booked with 1 airline to a onward destination they normally transfer your bags for the connecting flight. Listen when checking in and read the information on your tickets and you should be fine.

I also used Cathay Pacific twice, very nice airline.
When you first check in, you will get 2 boarding cards, 1 for each flight.
In Hong Kong, just follow the signs that say "Transfer", usually there is a security check. In the departures area, find a screen and look for your flight number to LHR,
that will tell you which gate to board.
There are maps and the gates are clearly numbered, it is easy to find.
But it is a big airport, so find the gate first, then you know how much time to spare for coffee etc.
There is even free internet terminal, although it might be busy.
As above, if you check in luggage, you will not see it in Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific will just transefer between planes.
You carry your hand luggage of course.
It is easy, you will be fine!
Yes. That is what I do. Find my departure gate first, then do coffee, duty free, internet etc.
During check-in at Terminal 1 in the Phils, I was given two boarding pass... The one to be used in PL, and the one for the connecting flight in Abu Dhabi. The boarding pass for Abu Dhabi did not indicate a gate to be used but Etihad oriented passenger about the Abu Dhabi Airport's gates... Just follow signs with TRANSFER signs... and of course, ask... you won't get lost...Airport personnels speak English...
