    Nuclear Waste Burial Plans for Cumbria

    I saw this on Countryfile yesterday..

    A leading geologist tells Channel 4 News that plans for an underground nuclear waste storage facility in the Lake District are unworkable.

    This is LLWR - I never realised they were digging deep holes, now I know why it's called low level waste repository.

    Yes. The problem in Cumbria is that although the holes might be deep it doesn't necessarily follow that it is safe for those who live in the vicinity. And it is high level nuclear waste.
