Will wait for news on the weekend, I was thinking of you all
Been a bad weekend here on the IOW, with the music festival, rain and traffic jams!
Mick.
Carina's been talking about the weekend meet-up non-stop.
Yep, fantastic is the word.
Scarborough is such a nice place too. We explored all around on Sunday and also had a drive around the area.
Did anyone else notice the huge numbers of VW camper vans on the road?
We arrived home quite late last night but had a wonderful Crab supper (fresh Scarborough crab )
What a really good fun time we all had
waiting for the pics, guys...

A few more ...

Wow, great pictures guys - looks like you had a really enjoyable weekend.
Wow, that looks like a fantastic weekend, we're so sad that we missed it :-(
Great Pics indeed,
Many thanks to Doc Alan for his persistance in organising the event.
It was so good to meet people in person, who we've been chatting to and exchanging views for a few years.
It is highly recommended and i trust that given the success of this inaugural weekend that with the help of all those who were there, that we can expand and make it an even bigger annual event.
I was especially pleased to meet so many Moderators.
Very special people in a special place
Scarborough has indeed many interesting sights....
Doc Alan, Thank you
fantastic pics , you all look great, wish i could have been there,
lots of pictures on here and facebook, Alan the resturant was a great place, wel done for booking that, just a pity we was not all in the same hotel, well may be next time when the next get together happens,
Thanks to everyone for making the trip to Scarborough As Stevewool says, many more pics on facebook .
Considering how bad the weather was elsewhere, we were relatively lucky.
I've had many appreciative messages from those who came and also those who couldn't manage this time. Even though as your " host " I had to " remind " members a few times beforehand, and grew a little impatient, I hope you understood and forgive me !
I have to say I enjoyed every minute of the weekend The " Highlander " proved a great place for meeting and chatting. As a result, the food and drink I had available in my nearby apartment was not needed - but it won't go to waste ! The landlord and landlady were so pleased to have us all that I got a free breakfast on Sunday morning with the five of you who had booked accommodation there Check your bills to make sure you didn't pay for me .
I thought they looked after us well at " Ask " and at a reasonable price, with a great harbour view.
Those who arrived Friday evening met up at a good central hotel and bar. I deliberately didn't try to organise the entire weekend and it's amazed me just how much of Scarborough you all managed to see .
Of course it's not possible for every member of an online forum such as this to actually meet for real. But all those of us who have met got on very well and I'm grateful for your friendship .
I can second what you say Alan and a big THANK YOU for arranging everything.
For those who managed to go to the Scarborough weekend, I am sure you will find that you have now made lots of new friends. Meeting your online friends is initially very strange, specially if you have never seen the person in photos before. But friendships made in meetings like this tend to last. I am really looking forward to meeting all of you guys and girls next time.. wherever that may be.
Thanks for a great time

wow...great place and pictures here...I wish I was there to meet you all...Doc allan congratulations for organizing this...you're good... you've managed to make this event successful ....and to Sir Arthur, now I know the face of Tita Myrna....as if I am there also with you all...thanks for the pics....love it
Looks like everyone had a great time. I'll try to join the next gathering as Rose will be here permanently from next week.
What is the Facebook link? I had a quick look but couldn't find it. Thanks.
WHAT A MISSED!
DO WE GET PENALized?.....like this?
I'm a cruel and heartless bitch but I’m damn good at it!
There's no specific facebook site, Trefor and Rose, although members have uploaded many photos on their own facebook pages. For future meetings keep looking under " Friendship & Dating : Events/Meetings/Trips " on this forum
As for " sillybilly " ( Clarice ) and others who couldn't make the Scarborough weekend, of course you won't be penalised - we understand, but you were missed !
Mickcant, Marie, Imagine, RickyR and all the other members who sent supportive messages - thanks - you were also missed !
Well done Doc Alan.. From the pictures it looks liked you all had a ball ! Congrats..

Thanks Fred, we did A good number of members have already asked when the next meeting will be. I know Grace ( gparry ) has already suggested a Christmas party.
I think – from experience – members will need reminding nearer the time, say October, with a firm date and venue for such a party. An ideal number ( 17 ) made it to Scarborough , not too impersonal. We all got on well ! Those who did turn up last weekend were from as far away as Dorset and Perth, so Scarborough - on the north east coast of England - was probably a suitable compromise. But if Grace, or any other member, is happy to organise a party anywhere else, they have my full support .
Another Scarborough get-together long before Christmas - sometime between July and September - IS possible ! More details to follow
