Might sound mad, but living near many "ethnic minorities", this often is the truth. Many are intensely proud of being British.
The perception (and truth) that they won't integrate, cast scorn on British values etc, is due to a sizable minority fitting exactly this profile - and in some case due to the majority being unwilling to condemn their fellows.
For every religious-intolerant racist grooming benefit cheating piece of filth, there are many other aspirational people who love the place and just want to get on with their lives.
That looks like the world that I live in.
Of course, we have to be careful with the exact wording of these surveys, immigrants and their first generation childfren tend to identify as "British" rather than "English" if they live in England, etc. This does not seem to apply to people who live in Scotland, though.
Very often the well-meaning Government causes problems by wanting to have "community leaders" to talk to - a lot of people see themselves as "British" and don't feel that they wanted to be herded in with a lot of backwoodsmen..
And we know why. FREE HEALTH CARE AND A GENEROUS BENEFIT SYSTEM.

Like one guy said on the radio. One minute the councils are telling you you cant fly the union jack and the george cross because ethnic minorities maybe offended. The next minute they come out with a poll like this. How do they expect the white british people to feel?
Now when it comes to the philippines. They are proud. Where my stepdaugther goes to school the sing the philippine national anthem before classes. Imagine that happening here?
i think us indigenous whites are made to feel less british due to all the predjudis silly laws directed at us that restrict us ,

plus all the other predjudisum against us such as our right to family life ,
british age old tradions,torn away from us because some dumbdecides its offensive to the minority, our briton doesnt exhist anymore its gone
If they had this poll in the 60s it would be a different story.
