I would take anything in the Express with not so much a pinch, as a shovelful of salt, as that paper (??) is historically very anti-immigrant, to the verge of printing lies. In fact, they are worse than the Daily Mail.

A lot of this however - if true - does sound like stuff that could be legislated against in parliament. Take the Latvian woman - if she exists, any loopholes could be easily enough closed so that only people who have paid for so many years into the national insurance can claim full state pension. HOWEVER, I have better things to do than waste time checking due to a Daily Express story (sitting here scratching my bum is one such better thing), but I am near certain that this law already exists, and this woman hasn't a leg to stand on, wanting to claim uk pension.

Something I have said for a long time would be a good idea, is that it would benefit Britain if the EU had a common benefits and welfare policy (I suggest it's paid for by a speaking French tax - anyone speaking French will be subject to this tax - good idea huh). This way, someone arriving in Greece would get exactly the same treatment than if they had then travelled many hundreds of miles across many safe democratic countries, camped out in Northern France, then sneaked through the chunnel, (not forgetting of course to burn their ID papers first) then practised their english by shouting the word "asylum".

Ok ok, I'd hate to be accused of discrimination against the French. Let's also have a tax on anyone owning a copy of Blackpool Tower, Golden Delicious apple exports, champagne production, pate de foie gras, and anyone who wants to play sports with a chicken on their shirt
