    Hello maryratcliffe07,
    Welcome to the forum.

I divorced my Filipina wife after we married in the Philippines in 2008, so ought to be able to help?

When you received the petition, did you respond to it?
If you did and the divorce was granted you should have received a copy of the decree nisi and then the decree absolute after six weeks.

If you kept the petition or a copy of it, you should know from that the court dealing with the case, you could contact them and ask?

Hopefully others will help you as well.
    Mick.

Mary, can you remember what the "grounds" stated in the petition were - do you still have a copy?

Looking at the time scale, most grounds for divorce would take longer than that.

As Mick says the petition will show the Court in which it was issued and the name of yoru ex-husband's lawyers, if any. You need to check with them.

A UK divorce comes in two parts - the Decree Nisi, which ends the marriage - that is usually quick and easy - and the Decree Absolute, which allows you to re-marry.

As Mick says, this is is in theory six weeks later but in practice it can take much longer, because the parties may have to consent to financial arrangements. If you haven't receieved a copy of the Decree Absolute, it would be wise to assume that you are still married.
