its just a shame the worlds the way it is that such measures indeed need to be implimented,

the residents are most proberbly in the safest place, after all if there was an attack it wouldnt be directed at the missiles but at the venue

I fully agree Imagine - the taxpayer funded, white plimsolled lawyers and the rest of the rabble just had to get involved didn't they. If specimens like that had been around in 1939 we'd all be speaking German now.

    The Nimby Culture.
My Only though about all this is that I do think its over the top surface to air missiles battleships in the Thames estuary and Tornados on stand by. What would please me a bit more is a visable presence on the streets of London. Soldiers at stations and airports physicaly checking anyone who falls into potential terrorist category. I think if you make it difficult for these scum to move around the capital during the Games then that would be far more of a deterrent than all this other stuff. I hope I'm wrong but I just get the feeling that when the circus arrives in town it's to big of a show for some nutcase not to try something.

If they're council flats they're probably all full of non-taxpaying asylum seekers, teenage mothers, smackheads and drugdealers anyway....not the Londoners born and bred who've been on the waiting list for 20 years.
