G4S - Grinning Idiot up before the MP's

This is a laugh - I've just watched a longer clip of these cretins on the BBC News.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18879404

On 27/6 baldy man in the loud suit was smugly claiming it was all under control

I do like the way they now televise these creeps squirming before the committee. A shame Oily Toad Keith Vaz is allowed not only to be on but Chair the committee - he's as bad if not worse than some of those dragged in front of it

We can call him all names but I can take all their grilling for the £58 million they are going to get for management services only.
And no, they wont get P45 because they are not going to fire themselves as they own the company.

Those 2 muppets are employees and don't own the company it is listed on the London Stock Exchange - no doubt they've got fat shareholdings but they will be peanuts compared to the other investors who will ensure their employment ends as thankfully seems to recently be becoming a trend in the world of big business.

What a contrast to the way Bob Diamond was treated to the G4S guy but wait isn't Bob Diamond friends with all the select committee?

I agree with you upto a point Dedworth. But I sense the MP's particularly Vaz are aware of the Cameras and Play to the Gallery. They had him promising to write out cheques left right and centre today but nothing will come of it , because you're right he'll be gone in no time. I suspect shareholders are already calling for his head and I'm sure it will be delivered shortly.
But lets not forget the politicians, they've had 7 years to prepare for this, Seb Coe was telling us ages ago that all tickets would be sold out and yet was on the radio this morning saying there are still 400,000 available. Mind you at 2 grand for the opening ceremony he can shove it up his

The problem in recent years is that companies, including banks have become nothing more than dodgy car dealers in the way they are run.

It's a change of attitude that is needed, and hopefully one that will come about after all this nonsense.

a right set of muppets, but just the same , how on earth can something on that scale, trainning temporary staff, to be available just for a few weeks, i think the odds of success are very small,
personaly i think those that contracted out the security are responsible in the first place, surely they knew what an almost impossible task it would be, why did they shrug off this important responsibilty on a 2 bit security firm, they ought to have used the forces, territorial army, including reserves, police, wardens, and any other suitable organisations that are already staffed with reliable employees,

the 1st point of blame i put on the goverment for not taking the responibilty seriously enough

You are right with a lot of this, G4S/Group 4 thought they were the big I am with 600000 employees worldwide, running privatised jails etc - I wouldn't rate their chances too much when the next tenders come out. However it seems they failed to grasp this bit of business entailed taking 10000 odd off the dole queue and training some possibly fairly dense and unmotivated folk up to x standard then employing them for 6 weeks. They are quite happy to collect the hundreds of millions of pounds but have failed miserably - there should have been stringent penalty clauses in place to put them out of business then a phoenix company rises out of the ashes to take up the slack.

    Classic piece in todays Telegraph

Olympics sketch: The day Nick Buckles buckled

Michael Deacon watches MPs interrogate Nick Buckles, chief executive of G4S, the firm that has failed to supply enough security staff for the Olympics.

G4S have announced they have solved the recruitment problem for security personnel at the Olympics, following a kind offer of help from the Muslim Brotherhood

Two G4S directors have resigned after the company announced the findings of a review into its Olympic Games contract.

In my opinion this is a great example of privatisation. Low pay irresponsible management. They had to bring a public service in to bail them out. In this instance THE ARMY.

Pathetic management because they tried to cream off as much as possible for themselves by offering people very short term contracts and half of them had got work elsewhere by the time the Olympics arrived.
They should have cancelled the contract and given the whole job to the army and sent the squaddies on a nice holiday when the job was done.
