    Cable thief fried

These are the horrific burns sustained by a suspected copper cable thief during an alleged botched robbery.

The pictures, released by police, show the horrific injuries the 20-year-old suspect suffered after apparently trying to steal cable from a metering premises.

Police said the man and a 16-year-old accomplice broke into the empty building, in Luton, Bedfordshire, but didn't realise the wires were still live until they suffered a powerful electric shock.

Personally i think people that was stealing cable, manhole covers, lead of roofs and other similar acts should be punished a lot more than they currently are. For a few pounds they are putting many peoples lives at risk.

of course they should, i was remarking on the damage to his hands , he has that pain and scares for life , burns, are not a short lived thing unlike a broken bone or cut,
a life long reminder, play with fire you get burnt,
there isnt any legal punishment can match that

I fully agree should be something like minimum 5 years jail, a lot of the perpetrators are P1keys or Romanians
