Well I for one am happy about that, for all sorts of reasons.
Not that I agreed with most of what the government had to say about the strike action, nor that I agreed with the strike itself.

But more of the way in which the government wanted to present a case that strike action is not a hard earned right.

Serwotka is a rabble rouser - crumbled due to the fear of sackings/legal action. There is plenty of room for cuts in the UKBA , I'd start with large numbers of the inept management grades

I am supporter of unions, and think that people should fight for what they deserve, because the fat cats always TAKE what they want.
British Citizens have a right to strike, and a right to demand better conditions.

Well only 20% of his UKBA membership voted with just over half those ie 1 in 10 in favour of this wholly unjustified strike which was timed to humiliate the country at the start of the Olympics. Do you class Serwotka as a Fat Cat Ricky ? I do with the £115000 he trousered last year

These inefficient, overpaid and gold plated pensioned public servants need to face up and accept the cold economic reality that has confronted private sector employees for years.

When elected to be Chief Class Warrior & Fat Cat Union Baron in 2000 Serwotka pledged to only accept the equivalent of an average civil servant's wage. Further evidence that his members are overpaid

And I'd CONTINUE by axing staff whose ineptitude is FURTHER compounded by an inability to deal with each visa application FAIRLY and EXPEDITIOUSLY on its individual merits ... failing to properly (as seems to've been happening all too frequently, of late!) through sheer damned incompetence and an APPARENT overall shortsightedness!

A good point Arthur - these incompetent creeps are living the life of Riley in the Far East at our expense

The other 80% realised that they'd better shut their traps because they were lucky to have a job at all at the moment.

    Never a truer word spoken

I pine for the days of former prolific nonsense poster IainBusby on a thread like this - he'd be laying the blame 25 years ago firmly at the feet of Margaret Thatcher or if he'd been on the scotch the Slave Trade would be responsible

Well as you know, if I don't work I get paid zero.

In fact it costs me money.

Commission only, no union. Don't produce, don't eat.
