I think everyone recognises that the major contributor is down to how much money is invested. But there are other contributions as well.
These increased investments have not happened overnight. It's been going on for over 15 years.
As the link above states, most has come from direct funding by the National Lottery with the taxpayer donating a mere 80p per year.
It's not a huge amount of money in the scheme of things, but just look at the many 'spin-offs' with so many new facilities all over the country, so many more opportunities for all of us to get involved in sports/leisure activities, so many opportunities for kids to experience great faciltites, great clubs and great coaching.
What a fantastic way to help improve the health and wellbeing of a nation.
