The really sickening thing is that the CBCP are trying to be more "Catholic than the Pope" mainly in order to get promotion within the Church whilst a conservatiev Pope is on the throne of Saint Peter.
I think you mentioned that before. But it definitely helps one get ones head around whats driving these almost whacky clergy.

BTW I was pleased to see that it looks like progress is being made.
