    isa

    am i right in thinking that Emma cannot have a isa in her own name and with her bank also, she pays tax and insurance but is not a uk citizen,

    No Steve. Emma can open up an ISA
    She just needs to be resident in the UK for tax purposes.

    Not many giving good interest these days.

    Just to clarify for other readers who may be interested.
    Residency for tax purposes really just means that you live in UK for for 183 days or more in a tax year. Then you are a UK tax resident.
