    Please help!!! ILR (Settlement) question

Hi everyone! I'm new here to the forum and I hope someone can help me out with my ILR application. I am married to a British citizen and currently have an entry clearance spouse visa issued in August 2010.

I just want to ask how negative it will be if we are overdrawn on the account most of the time (but within the overdraft limit) but both my husband and I are employed full-time (been with our employers for more than 4 years) and we haven't got any dependents. We also haven't claimed any benefits or public funds. Will this be ok? Do you suggest that we provide proof of our insurance policies (ie life cover, critical illness, accident cover and income protection) just to show that we do not need to claim public funds should our circumstances change? I know that the new changes do not apply to us but I'm just really really worried nonetheless. I have the appointment in Croydon next week.

Thank you so much in advance!

i think you shouldn't have a problem, you've done the hard work getting a settlement visa

no i dont think it will make any difference if you include insurance policies.

joebloggs is right mate. I wouldn't worry. When my wife applied for her ILR a few months ago, the only financial thing we provided as evidence was bank statements for a saving account. And that wasn't for a financial reason. It was only to help in showing we had been living together for the past 2 years as it had both our names and our address on it.

... you and your husband have been living together throughout the duration of your Spousal Visa and haven't breached any of the Immigration Rules. Applications for ILR ARE - for the most part - a mere [albeit, necessary] formality ... and yours would certainly seem straightforward. So please try to relax ... to our friendly site and good luck with the scheduled appointment at Croydon PEO.

Hi everyone!! Thank you so much for your replies, joebloggs, DaveUK, and Arthur Little! My apologies for being so stressed. I was just really worried because there was a part that said we needed to provide evidence that we could support ourselves without recourse to public funds. I reckon being employed full-time will suffice. Again, thank you so much for your assistance. I will definitely post again my experience and the result of my appointment this Friday.

UKBA caseworkers are under instruction not to refuse any ILR solely on financial issues.
    Everything will be fine.

    Good luck!

Hi everyone!!! I just want to say thank you to everyone who replied and helped me out -- joebloggs, DaveUK, Arthur Little, sars_notd_virus, and Terpe! My ILR application was approved last Friday! I'm really glad it was approved, albeit the long wait!! The appointment was for 11.30 am, but my husband and I arrived at Croydon PEO at 10.30am. However, we didn't get the result until 4.30pm!! I'll gladly share my experience in another post. Thanks again, everyone, for your help and reassurance!!
